From captivity to reclamation
I spent the first fifteen years of my life inside a strict Japanese cult, silenced by discipline and cut off from reality. When my sister took her first steps to escape, I texted her three words: "Run. Fast. Far." Escaping into the foster care system brought new hardships, but choosing to write gave me back my voice.
